During ergotherapy the skills that are necessary at home and at work are restored, so that a person can become as independent as possible.
With the help of an ergotherapist, people learn to acquire those daily activities which were impeded by a disease or trauma. An ergotherapist provides consultations as to which aids to buy (walker, crutches, cane, etc.), teaches one to use aids properly, explains how to use special adjustable instruments that ease various activities, provides consultations regarding adjusting one’s household to the purposes of a particular person.
